Lights of Legacy, Brighter Singapore
Chingay, the largest street performance and float parade in Asia, is one of the most anticipated events in Singapore. It is back for it's 43rd time ever since it's first street parade in 1973. This year's theme, Lights of Legacy, Brighter Singapore is meant to show the starting of a journey towards SG100.
As the theme suggests, Chingay 2016 will be the brightest and biggest full-scale illuminated show. This year's theme is also inspired by the legacy of our founding father, the late Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew and the values such as Racial Harmony and Social Cohesion, Caring Community, Resilience as a Nation, Can-Do Singapore Spirit and Uphold high moral values that are embodied by our pioneers.
This year's performance on the 19th and 20th February 2016 will include vibrant floats, dancing dragons, stilt walkers, wushu masters, different performers from different ethnic backgrounds that are clad in their traditional costumes and many more.
